When developing the Conoted application, we wanted to create a tool for lightning-fast note taking and structuring that would combine speed and intelligent knowledge management methodologies. The simple and functional interface of Apple Notes became the example we relied on, but with the addition of recommendations, automatic structuring and the ability to quickly interact with other users and notes.
Seconds to create a note
- One of the key elements that distinguishes Conoted is the incredible speed with which the user goes through all the steps from creation to a fully structured note. During the development process, I carefully calculated each step and the time required to complete it. We sought to minimize the time spent on structuring: according to my calculations, each step literally takes a few seconds.
- It's true that when you scrutinise recommended notes and users, it can take longer - and you'd better make it a point to add exactly what you need. But that doesn't apply to quick notes.
- Even when I wrote about this in one of the articles on productivity, the time values specified there were overestimated. This was done in order to give users an idea of the process, but even in these calculations, the time was indicated from a "pessimistic" point of view.
Recommender system to speed up work
- Conoted automatically suggests tags and other notes on the topic, and also finds relevant users who can be invited to collaborate. The entire process is built on a recommender system, which allows the user to not spend a lot of time on structuring and organizing data.
- "Creating a new note - structuring" - happens instantly and is immediately accompanied by tag suggestions.
- And also instantly at the stage of creating a new note, there is - "Connection with other notes and users" - based on automatically generated recommendations, which allows the user to connect useful materials and colleagues in a matter of seconds.
Foundation - knowledge management methodologies
Conoted relies on modern knowledge management methodologies, which provide that each new note should not just be a recorded thought, but also an element of a wider knowledge network. By structuring and linking notes among themselves and with other users, Conoted allows you to create a personal knowledge base that can be useful both to the user and to others.
Benefits of fast structuring
Such speed of structuring notes allows students, researchers and professionals not to waste time on design, but to immediately move on to more important tasks. By creating groups of notes, users can also visually organize materials and share knowledge with colleagues, which provides deep understanding and quick access to the necessary information.
Conclusion
Conoted is a quick note-taking app and a tool that helps you instantly structure and connect information, making it accessible to others. This not only saves time, but also creates a foundation for productivity and collaboration.
